What are the permissible sizes of the designs?

No wider than 160 cm and no longer than 240 cm.

The maximum length of your design is 240 cm, while the width of your design should be adapted to the width of the fabric you intend to print on. If you plan to print your design on different fabrics, adjust your design to the widest fabric (e.g. 160 cm).

Do I always have to adapt my pattern to the width of the fabric?

Fortunately, no. You only have to remember about the width of the fabric in two cases.

Case 1: seamless pattern with a sidebar

If you want to print a reportable pattern that has a side strip with a measure or logo, you need to pay attention to the width of the fabric. This is important because if the pattern is too short, the gauge will duplicate itself across the width of the fabric. You will then get a fabric with a large bleed that is unusable. If you plan to print the design on different fabrics, adjust your design to the widest fabric (e.g. 160 cm).

Case 2: Panel patterns

When designing panel patterns, it is essential to ensure that the width of your design does not exceed the width of the fabric you intend to print on. It is best to keep about 2 cm of safe space from the edges, as fabrics are often slightly frayed at the edges.

Reported designs (seamless)

A properly prepared report template should reproduce smoothly in every direction. Therefore, when preparing such a pattern, you do not need to worry about size. The repeating section (report) in this case is the smallest section (rectangle) that is duplicated. They are usually no larger than 60 x 60 cm.
